Written, directed and produced by Vitaly Sumin, Notes From The New World is a multi-layered experience. I say that because there were a few scenes I really want to see again so I can listen to the dialogue. Sumin transports us into 2011, Los Angeles and re-tells Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s novella “Notes From The New World”. What I found interesting about the three main roles, Steven (Nathaniel Theisen), Irina (Rebecca Siegl) and Sonia (Natasha Blasick), was the unveiling of the true selves, which ran in parallel to the unveiling of the story.
